eSports: Skyesports Masters is highly anticipated

As the Skyesports Masters draws near, the Indian esports scene is abuzz with anticipation. With renowned organizations, star-studded rosters, and substantial prize money at stake, this tournament is poised to captivate gaming enthusiasts and propel Indian esports further into the global spotlight.

Enigma Gaming, a prominent esports organization based in Mumbai, has recently been announced as the seventh franchise to join India’s gaming tournament, the Skyesports Masters. The highly anticipated event is scheduled to commence on July 8 and will feature an intense League Stage running until August 17. With a prize pool of Rs. 2,00,00,000 up for grabs, eight franchised teams will battle it out for both monetary rewards and the coveted bragging rights. The top four teams from the League Stage will advance to the Playoffs, which promises to be a spectacular on-ground spectacle, complete with a live audience.

Counter-Strike has been a pioneer for the global esports industry. Unfortunately, it wasn’t able to grow in India in the same manner because of the lack of development of esports in the country over the past two decades. Now, with the rapid emergence of esports in India over the past three years, we feel it’s the right time to invest in the game

Aryaman Wasan, the Founder and CEO of Enigma Gaming

Aryaman Wasan, the Founder and CEO of Enigma Gaming, said, “Counter-Strike has been a pioneer for the global esports industry. Unfortunately, it wasn’t able to grow in India in the same manner because of the lack of development of esports in the country over the past two decades. Now, with the rapid emergence of esports in India over the past three years, we feel it’s the right time to invest in the game. With a new version coming up and the long-term vision of the Skyesports Masters, we are here to support Counter-Strike for the years to come.”

Expanding the esports portfolio in India, 7Sea Esports, an Indian multi-dimensional entertainment brand, made its entry into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). The team has signed a five-member roster and will be one of the eight franchised teams vying for the Rs. 2 Crore Prize Pool at the Skyesports Masters 2023.

Ashwin Haryani, the Country Head (India) at Ampverse, said, “Happy to be part of the Skyesports Masters and excited to see the franchise format enter into the Indian esports industry in such a grand way. Skyesports has delivered some amazing IPs in the past and they will no doubt do a great job with this league as well. I am very hopeful that such events shall steer the esports ecosystem into a more profitable, mature, and stable industry.”
