The Tech Panda takes a look at recent tech launches.

Cybersecurity: Commercial Launch of Embedded Application Environment

Mercury Security, a global open architecture access control hardware platform, recently launched its embedded application environment. With developer onboarding active and partner applications in progress, the platform moves from concept to execution, enabling technology partners and OEMs to build and deploy secure applications directly on Mercury MP Intelligent Controllers equipped with the latest Mercury firmware.

“This is a milestone moment,” said Steve Lucas, Vice President of Sales at Mercury Security. “We’ve laid the groundwork with a secure, open controller platform and validated distribution through OEM channels. We’ve created an environment where partners and developers can build apps on MP Controllers. Now, we have the program and tools to support a growing list of certified app developers.”

FEATURES

  • Commend Edge Bridge: The Commend Edge Bridge app will deliver real-time, hardware-level data directly and securely to Commend device displays and audio products, without requiring any middleware.
  • HiveWatch: The HiveWatch app on Mercury controllers will securely connect access control hardware to HiveWatch’s cloud security operations platform. Security teams will gain centralized visibility into physical security events, with the ability to isolate device health events at the panel level, enabling faster diagnostics, proactive maintenance, and more efficient incident response.
  • KeyShare Connect by PassiveBolt: The KeyShare Connect app will enable government-issued digital IDs — such as mobile driver’s licenses — to be verified for physical access within a Mercury-powered environment, running natively on the Mercury controller at the edge. Together, PassiveBolt and Mercury will help eliminate the need to issue, manage, or pay for separate access credentials.

TravelTech: India’s First Concierge Visa Service Built for Elderly Travellers

Bangalore-based AI Visa processing Startup Teleport (backed by StampMyVisa) has announced its new offering – Teleport Care, a concierge visa assistance service designed specifically for elderly Indian travellers. As part of this value added service, senior citizens traveling abroad to meet their family will be assisted by a dedicated relationship manager who would visit applicants’ home, collect documents, prepare the visa application, and guide the travellers through every step of the process. For the biometric appointment or visa interview, the agent would accompany the applicants to the visa centre, and escort them safely back home.

Rahul Borude, Co-founder CEO, StampMyVisa, says, “We kept hearing the same story from NRIs across the US, UK and Canada. They didn’t care about fancy dashboards or faster apps. They just wanted to know if their parents are able to navigate through the complex visa process and if it can be made simpler for them. It is really stressful for the NRI family and the senior citizens. It is surprising that in the last decade, the global travel industry has spent billions of Dollars building faster booking apps, AI-powered itinerary planners, and automated customer journeys. Nearly every friction point in modern travel has been digitised, except one — The visa application process. As a market leader in the visa processing segment, we wanted to solve this bottleneck using the right blend of tech and human intervention. We dedicate this service to the senior citizens of India so that they can travel fearlessly and without any stress.”

FEATURES

  • Throughout the journey, the NRI family member abroad receives real-time WhatsApp updates, allowing them to stay informed without needing to manage the process across time zones.
  • The service is now live for US, UK, Canada, and Schengen visa applications
  • Behind the scenes, technology handles document validation, workflow automation, and appointment scheduling, allowing relationship managers to focus entirely on human interaction.
  • Powered by modern operational infrastructure built by StampMyVisa.

Data Center Infrastructure: Scalable, High-Capacity Double Stack Busway System that Preserves White Space for Growing AI Data Center Demands

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a company in critical digital infrastructure, announced the expansion of the Vertiv™ PowerBar Track busway family with the introduction of a compact, high-capacity double-stack design that enables higher power density while optimizing valuable white-space. Designed to address rapidly evolving AI workloads within colocation and hyperscale data centers, the scalable system delivers high-capacity power distribution through a flexible, modular architecture that supports future growth, enables improved energy efficiency, and provides simplified deployment.

“Power distribution must keep pace with the scale and density of modern AI and high-performance computing environments,” said Kyle Keeper, senior vice president of the power business unit at Vertiv. “As customers navigate increasing power demands, tighter space constraints, and rapidly evolving infrastructure requirements, they need solutions that provide flexibility. Vertiv PowerBar Track double stack is designed to address these challenges by enabling compact yet scalable expansion, supporting live changes, and delivering the reliability required in mission-critical data center environments.”

FEATURES

  • Addresses a critical infrastructure gap: The system supports configurations of up to 2500A (IEC 61439-6), enabling higher power density without consuming additional white space on the data center floor.
  • Zero-downtime flexibility: Its open-track architecture allows live configuration changes and operators can install or relocate tap-off boxes without interrupting active load distribution, a key requirement for mission-critical environments.
  • End-to-end ecosystem play: The solution integrates with Vertiv’s broader 360AI power ecosystem, including switchgear, UPS systems, and modular infrastructure platforms such as Vertiv™ OneCore and Vertiv™ SmartRun.

Pharmacology: First-of-Its-Kind Lasmiditan Dispersible Tablets for Rapid Migraine Care

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. launched the world’s first Lasmiditan dispersible tablets, marking an important step forward in the treatment of acute migraine. The DCGI-approved formulation introduces a patient-friendly approach to migraine management, designed to provide faster and more convenient relief during sudden migraine attacks.

Arushi Jain, Director, Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd., said, “Anyone who has experienced a migraine understands how suddenly and intensely it can disrupt everyday life. In those moments, patients need relief that is not only effective but also convenient to take. With the world’s first Lasmiditan dispersible tablets, we wanted to create a solution that responds to those real patient challenges. The formulation disperses quickly in water which is especially helpful during attacks when nausea or difficulty swallowing often makes conventional tablets hard to use. At Akums, we remain committed to developing thoughtful pharmaceutical innovations that combine strong science with practical patient needs, ultimately improving the treatment experience.”

FEATURES

  • First-of-its-kind formulation globally: This is the first time Lasmiditan has been introduced in a dispersible tablet format, making it easier to administer during acute migraine attacks
  • Designed for real patient challenges: Migraine episodes are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and difficulty swallowing—this formulation can be mixed in water, eliminating the need to swallow a conventional pill.
  • Faster action through dual disintegration technology: The tablet uses a combination of swelling and effervescence mechanisms for rapid dispersion and quicker therapeutic effect.
  • Improved patient experience: Advanced taste-masking technology addresses the drug’s bitterness, enhancing compliance during episodes when patients are already distressed.
  • Targeted mechanism of action: As a selective 5-HT1F receptor agonist (ditan class), Lasmiditan works on migraine pathways without vasoconstriction, making it a differentiated treatment option.
