Updated! – Instagram Web Features

Last week, Instagram announced that it has added several new features to the web client to make it even more similar to the mobile app for iOS and Android. The co-founder, Kevin Systrom has sent across a note to the users in which he has clearly mentioned that the emphasis of Instagram has always been on the mobile app, however it is now adding functionality to the web to boost the social network presence.

“As of today, you can now browse your Instagram feed on the web — just like you do on your mobile device,” Systrom said. The new interface allows you to browse the pictures, as well as you can do on your phone. Also, you can like the pictures and make comments. However, the web server doesn’t allow uploading of pictures as of now.

“This product was made possible by a small, talented group of engineers and designers on the Instagram team whose goal it was to make Instagram for the web be the most simple, straightforward, and beautiful web experience for the Instagram community,” Systrom said. “We look forward to hearing your feedback, and thank you as always for your support as we build this product and community together.”
